Horsetooth Hang Climbing Festival

Reel Motion Media

The Horsetooth Hang is a community climbing day at the Rotary Climbing Area west of Fort Collins, Colorado. There are equipment demos of all types and many of the areas toughest bouldering routes are protected by ropes to encourage people to try them. There is also a competition which draws many national professional climbers as Horesetooth Reservoir is considered to be one of the birthplaces of the Bouldering. Bouldering involves climbing shorter, extremely dynamic routes without the aid of a rope. The consequences for mistakes can be greater but it also allows individuals the ability to climb with very few pieces of gear. All you need is some shoes and some chalk, and if you want, a pad.
